Message from Mrs. Castell
Dear Parents
We had a virtual harvest assembly today joined by some governors and it was so nice for all of the school to see one another and share some of the work they had done. Our harvest presentations are now available for you to view on our website, https://www.writtleinfantschool.com/2020/10/16/virtual-harvest-festival/ many thanks to the staff for working with the children and to Mrs Pluck who runs our website.
As part of our celebration assemblies held on a Friday we love to share achievements that children have done outside of school and we would be grateful if you could email us with this information.
As you may be aware Essex is now Tier 2 in terms of Coronavirus restrictions. Understandably parents are anxious what this means for schools but there will be no change, schools remain open as normal.
You will have received a ParentMail about our change in catering provider and our exciting new menu. We have designed it with the fact that meals have to be transported easily from the hall to the classroom in large quantities (in a box) and eaten in the classroom. Any feedback is always welcome.
WISPA news
A reminder that next Friday, 23rd October will be a non uniform day for a suggested donation of £2. There will be buckets for the cash by the doors used at pick up and drop off.
CLOTHING
Due to Government guidance, all the classrooms must keep windows open to aid ventilation. Now that the cold weather has arrived, could you please ensure your child comes to school in suitable warm clothing including a jumper or fleece.
To clarify we will begin sending reading books home after half term. There has been a separate ParentMail regarding book bags.
A reminder that both Writtle Infant and Junior schools will hold a collection to support the homeless charity Sanctus. Donations can be left outside the school entrance from Monday, 19th to Friday, 23rd October. Please donate items from this list only:
Tinned items: fruit, baked beans, tomatoes, fish, ready meals (tinned). Ideally tins with ring pulls, not requiring a tin opener.
Store cupboard items: Pot Noodles, cereal, coffee, sugar, long life milk, small juice cartons, biscuits, cake bars, chocolate, bottles of water, salt, pepper, mustard, stock cubes.
Toiletries: disposable razors and shaving foam, deodorant, shower gel, shampoo.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Helen Castell
