Message from Mrs. Castell
Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope you had a wonderful half term in the sunshine. The children have returned in good spirits and I have enjoyed watching them play with their own year group at lunchtimes this week. We await Monday’s government announcement about any lifting of restrictions on 21st June, together with additional guidance from the Department for Education. Once we have clarification we will notify you of any end of term events.
Night Owls’ visit to the school has now been rescheduled for Thursday 24th June. They could not have been more apologetic about the cancellation on Wednesday but it was unavoidable due to a family member being rushed to hospital. We know the children will be very excited to see them return! On Thursday 17th June, Kittle Photographic will take class photos in school - purchase details will be sent home as soon as we receive them.
A couple of reminders - firstly please complete your child’s lunch order on ParentMail by the end of Wednesday each week. This week the equivalent of a whole class of children had not responded by the deadline. Can I also ask you to keep your children with you as they come through the gate in the morning. I had to tell several children to wait for their parents, as they need to be accompanied into school. Many thanks.
WISPA have counted the Mini Marathon sponsorship money and the total so far is an amazing £1350! Thank you so much for your generosity. If there are any further donations to send in, please hand them to the school office.
Finally, Mrs Winsley would love some donations for Forest School. She would like to create a Gruffalo trail and a Peter Rabbit area, so any toys you could donate would be lovely. Also any old teapots / tea sets, unwanted white shirts or bed linen for tie-dyeing and hapa zome printing (leaf dyeing!). Thank you!
Have a lovely weekend.
Warm regards
Helen Castell

Year 2 News
What a fabulous start to our Wonderful World topic this week. We started with World Oceans Day and discussed what we already knew and what we would like to learn. Obviously everyone was disappointed about the owl visit but we learnt lots of interesting owl facts and look forward to June 24th when we will hopefully see them in real life. The highlight of the week was Thursday; a day filled with fun. The fruit kebabs were a huge hit and we were so proud of the children's sporting abilities, determination and enthusiasm competing in the Virtual Y2 Mini Games. The children scored over 2000 points and even the weather was on our side!

Year 1 News
This week has been a great, sunny week for Year One. The children are on the final stretch before Year Two and they are showing huge improvements in their work, we are so proud! We have started our new English book 'How to Find Gold', and we have predicted what we think will happen in the story. We have continued to learn and compare our numbers to 100, and we have truly persevered! In the afternoon we planted some cress ready for the children to take home next week. We have also learned about the Monarch and spoken about rules we would have if we were King/Queen! The children have had so much fun this week. Please remember it is the Teddy Lympics on Monday, so please come to school wearing a P.E kit, long hair tied up, no earrings and suncream applied! If your child wishes to bring a small teddy that has their name on it, that would be great.

EYFS News
This week we learnt all about Owls, we were sad that we couldn’t see the real owls but we drew our own! We have been practising for our sports day and we do really well at working as a team! This week was child safety week and we talked about keeping safe on the roads. Next week we are having some special guests arriving! We have some duck eggs coming on Monday! We hope they will be hatched by the end of the week and we will have them for another week. If anyone knows anyone who would like a duck/s let us know as the company like to re-home them.
Have a wonderful weekend.
