Dear Parents
What a lovely sunny week we've had, it feels like summer is here! On Monday and Tuesday we met all the new children who will start school in September, it is an exciting time for them all as they embark upon the start of their school journey. The summer activities are in full swing with our first ever joint school Sports Day, the Year 2 summer trip and the Summer Fair all taking place next week! We know it is a busy time for everyone so please keep reading our messages, we try to limit our communications so you are well informed, but not overloaded!
You will have received a letter about Sports Day this week. It's the first time we have joined up with the Junior School and we know it will be fun for all our families. The activities will be adjusted according to ability for Infant and Junior school children, and we are very grateful to the Parents Associations for their help in serving refreshments. All Infant school children will be returned to their classrooms for 3.10pm and seen out via the usual playground doors. If your child attends Gymnastics club, this will still be running. Please make sure that you have informed the after school providers (Ducklings or YMCA) if you are collecting your child at the end of Sports Day, otherwise they will be looking for children who have already gone home.
The Parents Association are in the final preparations for the Summer Fair on Saturday 29th June. Thank you for your donations today, the next dress down day is for sweets and cakes on Friday 28th June. Please see WISPA’s message below for further details. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, so please email wispacharity@gmail.com if you can offer a little of your time to help the organisers of the event.
A reminder that Messy Church is this Sunday morning at 10am. We look forward to seeing you there.
Enjoy the sunshine this weekend, let's hope the football improves next week!
Best wishes
Tracey Wilson
Essentials for next week
- A reminder that the children must have suitable sun protection this term, including water bottles, sun hats and sunscreen applied before school. Raincoats are still a useful backup plan!!
- Please remember your child's additional daily snack in a named box.
- Please try to take good care of our school reading books as they are very expensive. Thank you to parents who have generously replaced books that have been damaged.
- Please check the Lost Property box in reception for any missing items and use the half term break to ensure all clothing and footwear still fits and is labelled!
- If you are interested in volunteering, please speak to the office.
- Please check the diary dates for details of upcoming events.

Highlights of the week
Year 2
We have been busy practising for our Sports Day this week! We're looking forward to seeing you all on Tuesday afternoon. We have also started preparing for our end of year celebrations, save the date it's the morning of Thursday 18th July!
Year 1
The children wrote character descriptions in English and tried to include verbs and adjectives in their sentences. They created a soundscape for a thunderstorm at sea and made comparisons between what the seaside is like now and 100 years ago. The children used the greater than, less than and = to symbols to compare numbers between 50 and 100.
EYFS
The children have been practising for their very first school Sports Day! We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday afternoon!
